We love having school and nursery groups for class visits to our site. These can be one off class visits, workshops spaced throughout the year experiencing different seasons or regular visits to facilitate Forest School. We work with you to ensure your class has a wonderful time and we’ll do our best to work in any relevant learning outcomes you have in mind.

Workshops

Bring your class to spend the day at our beautiful woodland site. The children will have plenty of opportunities to play freely and let their creativity sore through exploration of our open-ended provision. We have a whole host of equipment that the children will have full access to, including swings, pulleys, rope ladder, hammocks, magnifying glasses and insect hunting resources, bird hide with binoculars and bird watching resources, a well-equipped mud kitchen and much much more.

The visit will be led by one of our qualified Forest School Leaders who will be able to offer an introduction to all things Forest School. We’ll work with you to design your visit but some of the things we might explore include, lighting a fire with a ferro rod and striker, cooking a snack on the campfire, crafting with natural materials possibly with an introduction to some basic tools. We’ll do our best to work in any relevant learning outcomes too. In the past we’ve covered topics such as eco education and looking after the environment; insects; fairy tales and habitats.

Forest School

Our weekly Forest School sessions work with the school to embed Forest School principles which focuses on the holistic development of children as individuals. Forest School helps to develop children’s connection with nature, confidence, resilience, social and communication skills as well as working on fine and gross motor skills and risk awareness.

Our School Forest School sessions use the WILD Passport system which is a five-year outdoor learning progressive skills curriculum which evidences learner progression.

If you have a suitable outdoor area on your site for us to set up a base camp area, we can facilitate regular sessions at your own site, in line with the Forest School ethos.
